Hypertension and Lingzhi
Blood pressure is an indicative measurement of our health conditions. As it elevates when we grow older, hypertension tends to be more common
among the middle-and-old aged. The World Health Organization (WHO) has specified the highest and lowest blood pressure of
hypertension to be above 140mmHg and 90mmHg respectively. The existence of either or both conditions is known as hypertension.
Hypotension and Lingzhi
Weakening in the blood vessels, degeneration of heart functions,
or reduction of blood supply causes hypotension. Patients of hypotension generally show the symptoms feebleness, exhaustion,
poor concentration, cold limbs, weak pauses, arrhythmia, etc. Some may also suffer from hemorrhoid, gastric ulcer, and climacteric
disturbances. Experiments on guinea pigs subject to anesthesia to lower down their blood pressure showed that their blood
pressure increased when they were fed with lingzhi. Subsequent tests also showed that lingzhi helped increase the heartbeats
and improved blood supply from the heart.
Diabetes and Lingzhi
Affluent lifestyle of our time has brought an acute in the population
of the obese. As obesity increases the body size and the number of body cells, the need for insulin also increase, until it
can no longer cope with demand and stops production.
As a result, there will be an excess of glucose in the blood, and
as the liver is unable to convert those glucose into glycogen, the level of sugar rises, causing the presence of excessive
amount of sugar in the urine, which is a common symptom of diabetes.
